Based on both reports, the fight started when younger players questioned the team's seniors on their leadership and effort in the Sun Bowl (USC had effort problems this season? You don't say ... ). ESPN.com said, in particular, a freshman questioned senior quarterback Matt Barkley on why he didn't play. Barkley injured his shoulder in the second-to-last game of the season.

They had very high expectations this season and flunked out. Pretty sad with all that talent. They did lack depth.

Those freshman need to get punched in the face for signing up for this debacle. They knew the situation they were getting into and bought everything Lane and USC sold them.

They can be pissed and question leadership, but at the end of the day they will have to either accept they made a horrible decision or transfer.

I question whether they're really leaders or not. If the thought of 20-something shirtless, teenage boys storming the meeting room screaming "wild-boyz!" at the top of your lungs appeals to you, I question your judgement.

Yet somehow he manages to con his way to the next great job...He has never coaced well anywhere..But he somehow cons Tennessee and SoCal into hiring him...His only claim to fame is that he can shoot 5 start recruits a line of bs second to none...He promptly coaches them down to 2 and 3 star performance levels...A true mystery among the coaching hiring/firing dynamic

Don't forget, Lane Kiffin got the SoCal job because we was a "SoCal guy" (meaning he had a natural douche-tastic quality) plus ol' Monte was there to create the necessary clout since he didn't have any.
