Why? OJ's case went to trial, right? That's a little different than a clearly motivated district attorney admitting he couldn't bring forth enough evidence to even bother pressing charges.

People bring up Ben as an example of how the Steelers let things slide, yet he was still suspended 6 games for being innocent (as recommended by the Rooneys to Goodell). A better example would be Harrison not getting trouble for an altercation with his wife, but nobody's smart enough to bring that up - instead they focus on Roger Goodell trying to substitute his judgement for the legal system.

Then again, this is a franchise that traded away their Super Bowl MVP WR in his prime for next to nothing after he failed a drug test, so I'm not sure that'd be a convincing argument anyway.

Accused and actually committing the crime are two different things. Also I don't believe they settled anything out of court because he was never formally charged.

Do you know how many games Percy missed? Many of them due to mysterious injuries? You have no idea how much he was or wasn't punished for any of those incidents. Outside of the drug test (which he was punished for), the other 'incidents' were alleged. And the 'victim' of one of them said the incident was overblown, and if you read the article, punishment was doled out. But keep telling yourself what you want to hear. Did Stephen Garcia just embody the Spurrier attitude at USC?
