I'm sorry but I agree with a lot or what he said. These guys aren't perfect and its been a tough cycle. The coaches are a big source of info and) they've been wrong too. I think a lot of what Tony is mad about is the way the board melts down every time something negative happens. I'm getting tired of it too

I'm not necessarily mad that they've gotten stuff wrong, but that they can't go into detail. What am I paying for if they have the "knowledge" but won't give it out? It just rubbed me the wrong way tonight.

I'm very happy with them. Too many people expect 100% disclosure, 100% of the time, with 100% accuracy. That is unrealistic. I believe they give out as much information as they can, they don't have any reason not to. Certain times I'm sure they get information and their source asks for them not to report any of the details. They respect that.....and I respect them for that. Any time you have access to confidential information, you must never, ever betray the trust given you by the person providing you with that information. If they didn't, their sources would terminate that relationship. It all boils down to "you get what you pay for". What is their cost, 100-200 per year. I think that is very reasonable. For the hours each month I spend on there, it's pennies a day.

I think recruiting sites as a whole are on their way out as far as being first to deliver info. With Smartphones, the development and expansion of social meda, the increase in forums like cockytalk and secrant breaking recruiting information is not limited to those sites like it was 7-8 years ago. Plus major announcements are put in headlines in those sites.

People who have memberships to those sites are better suited to pay for restricted forums, gain perspective from trusted sources and have a sense of community. However, as far as breaking news...the internet and mediums for it are too fast to compete now.

Tony Morrell is a hack and I think the quality of TBS has gone WAY down in recent months.

I much rather enjoy our community here and some of the more well-known, well-respected posters that anyone on TBS.

The site really misses JC being around full time. The other staff members just don't have the overall insight and knowledge he does of the business. His projections are the most accurate by far as well.

I'm not going to bash Tony because he has been in the game for a long time. The problem, IMO, is that (and he said this) is that he has other things going on in his life that are taking time away from doing this job. I think he said he had somewhere around 4 kids and some other stuff going on, I mean who can blame him? I agree with the post above about JC. Me and JC had a squabble along time ago but have since the ironed it out and I have great respect for the dude and what he brings to his profession but he is sorely missed at TBS. He also is the publisher at VTScoop and he is the national recruiting director. Dude has a full plate. TBS made a big hire after they lost Josh Low but Wes Mitchell, IMO, is still sharpening his skills. What TBS needs, IMO, is a reboot or reorg with its staff. Idk how they can do it but they need to rethink their approach just a tad. This isn't a knock at all but sometimes when you are on top, and trust me TBS was running this shit for a long time, you get a bit stale. They need to switch it up a little.

I do have to say something else. You mentioned that posters on CT including are better than those guys. This is false. 90% of what is posted on this site is from pay sites and it's just the some posters don't credit where they got their 'info'. I am usually careful about the stuff I post that doesn't have a source attached to it. There are things that I know that I don't share nor will I ever share because I'm not looking to be in this business but I am a big believer in pay sites and I think everyone that loves gamecock football needs to subscribe to one. These guys know more than anyone will ever know about things and if Tony isn't leaking the entire story it's because the school told him not to. Period.

I just read a newly posted article on GCC. I won't try to go into all the details, but after reading it, I feel much better about our chances with all the uncommitted recruits that visited this weekend. They certainly didn't say they thought we would get all of them, but they had very encouraging things to say about each one that I had not heard before. So, for those of you like me that felt somewhat discouraged after this weekend, I bring some words of encouragement. The article was written by Chris Clark and Josh Low. Each gave their own opinions about what they had heard this weekend.
