2. The grudge issue - it's because I am biased. Fairness and impartiality have nothing to do with it as we are talking about sports. And as far as it being being a decade long grudge, well Spurrier was giving us hell for over decade so .... how about a decade of 9 wins or more seasons?

3. I don't see how it has anything to do with a winner's mentality. I want to my team to win for me. I still root for me team and go to games and cheer and sport the Gamecock gear. Old grudges are something everyone has. Winners I guess don't dwell on and I don't either, I only go there when I get reminded. But successful people have grudges, listen to Michael Jordan talk. He obviously had a lot of grudges.

I'm sure he does, but I bet you he would never blame someone else for his failures. His grudges are probably from hard fought competitions, yours seems to be from an entitlement attitude of sorts. He owes you and the gamecock fan base this and that, he should have been nicer to you when he played you. A winner mentality says I'm not going to let that guy beat me, and if he does, I'll work harder to make sure it doesn't happen again. That's the mentality spurrier has and it's why he is great.

Side note our line looked less than focused in some of the big games. Georgia was perfection, lsu, uf, and mich were not so much.

I personally never liked Lawing. Always acted like he was big shit. Cocky asshole in interviews that rubbed me the wrong way constantly but mentally I put that to the side because he was one of our own. The fact that he went to our biggest divisional foe just proves to me I was right about him all along. He could of went any damn where but he went to Florida! Glad he's gone. Now I don't have to look at that, I'm the best d line coach in the history of college football smirk ass face anymore. Sorry but I had to get that off my chest. Man I hope we smash them next year.

Nobody owes anybody anything. USC pays Spurrier to do an excellent job and he does an excellent job. That's how a job works.

A lot of those grudges were based on tall tales, though.

Link to one of the saddest stories I've read in sports (on topic of Jordan's grudges). Like that time I found out "Stairway to Heaven" was stolen from Zep's tour opener.

Deke Adams is an excellent hire...Our staff is getting younger and thats really great for communications with current players and prospects...Adams will do a great job...The key will be how well he evaluates HS talent....

Lawing did a great job for us...I hope he loses a lot of games at Florida...Muschamp seems like a predator who thinks he can build his house by tearing down his neighbors...That attitude usually fails...He attempted to hire Shawn Elliot last year and failed...He tries to pirate our recruits and coaches every chance he gets...Muschamp obviously fears the program Spurrier has built in Columbia...Beating the gaters at Billy Brice this fall will be so sweet...

Spurrier seems ot have upgraded the staff with each new hire...Florida in the end may have done us a world of good...Nothing but great respect for Lawing...But there are a lot of talented younger coaches that will recruit better and coach just as well...I believe Deke Adams will prove to be such a coach

So, I guess you think that everyone that is paid to do an excellent job actually does an excellent job. Besides I said IF a debt is owed try looking that word up sometime.
Our military gets paid (not enough) to do an excellent job, I guess you don't think they deserve anything beyond a paycheck.

Yeah, well I don't owe Spurrier anything either. And I and don't owe liking him, or giving him the benefit of the doubt all the time on every single thing, or a certain set of expectations, or being satisfied with certain accomplishments. I set my own criteria and conditions. I don't have to adopt anyone else's. If I do choose to do any of that is it simply that. I chose. I'll hold against him anything I feel like holding against him and give him credit any time I feel like it. Worship him and and bow down to him all you want, I'm not ready do that with the rest of you until he wins a championship. That's just the way it is.

I think having another young coach on the team can only help with recruiting he can relate to the players on a lot more personal level than some one who is twice their age . I am happy to have Adams looks like a good hire to me .
