Socal wont be down long..too many great players. i just think its far. who can blame a 18 yr old for going to cali?

I agree with this to an extent, but they still have a TON to offer. Great weather, LONG tradition of winning and sending players to the NFL, HUGE city, tons of exposure, and the girls are endless.

It doesn't surprise me when a player wants to go there, no matter how much of a disappointment they may been the previous season.

So does Powell's decision to cancel his visit mean Brunson gets a more official look? The LB targets remaining:

Walton
Moore
Brunson

We could really take all 4, but the odds are against Ngaukoue coming here right now. Any word from you guys that are in the know if the staff is even seriously considering Brunson, or is there no interest on our end.

His profile says he runs a 4.47??? Why is this guy not projected as a cornerback? 6'0", 206 lbs. He would be a standard.

I do agree that at 6'0" 206 Brunson may project better at DB, particularly S, early in his career.

Brunson seems like he fits the Swearinger mold pretty well. About the same size, speed, hitting ability...

Seems like Moore is bound to be a gamecock soon. I put Walton and Ngaukoue at 50/50 each. Hoping we get one of them. Brunson would be a great player to get in case we miss on a couple LB.

We've never been listed as his favorite, he has a hometown school moving to a better conference with former high school teammates and friends on the team. Might be pleasantly surprised, but again, we've never been in the lead for him at all.

No, he was committed to Auburn in secret, but said that he was committed to us. When on his visit here, he tried to openly recruit players to Auburn. Coach Elliot had a fit when he found out, and told him to take a hike. Elliot wasn't happy about the weight gain Mack was showing, but it was the blow up on his visit here that caused us to tell him to get lost.

"It's going to come down to everything. When we get done with these visits we're going to write downt he pros and cons and stuff like that. It will be a real big weekend," Bell said.

Although the Tennessee staff is having to play catch up having to get to know Bell in just two months compared to the Buckeyes and Crimson Tide who've been recruiting him for almost a year, Bell said that everyone is even but expect that to change shortly after this weekend's visit is over.

"You can't really say that right now. Everybody is dead even right now. But, after the visit I will be making some changes after that," Bell offered.

Bell said he doesn't know when he'll make a decision but that he will have some answers coming out of his weekend visit to see the Vols.

"I haven't really thought about it, but after this Tennessee visit I'm going to have an answer," Bell said.
