I don't get how he's even an option. We have 8 million to spend. Bourn is suppose to get way more than that. Does that mean they have more money than we know of?

I wouldn't mind a trade for Upton if say Teheran or Delgado, Ahmed or Francisco, EOF and Graham or Spruill was the package. Bringing in Upton would move Prado to 3rd permanently and block Ahmed and Francisco, only one spot is open for Teheran or Delgado, EOF will walk in 11 months anyways, and Graham and Spruill are still prospects (albeit good ones).

Atlanta avoided arbitration with 1 year deals with Heyward, EOF, Medlen, and Venters.

Buster Olney reported that once again talks have resumed between the Dbacks and Braves about Justin Upton. He said Braves are the frontrunner if Arizona decides they wanna deal him and that Arizona is reviewing what is considered to be a "strong" offer from the Braves.

One obstacle is Arizona is trying to decide on moving Upton or Kubel. Olney reported that Arizona would like to make a decision by Friday on who to trade.

Seeing on Twitter the proposed deal may be Upton for Teheran, Nick Ahmed, Francisco and Zeke Spruill. Two pitchers, two position players. Quite frankly, I think this is a deal we could afford to make because the farm system is loaded with arms.

If this happens, the projected line up would be insane. Going around the horn:

Heyward

Get good pitching this year, and this team has the ability to make a deep run.

I agree. This has been in the works for quite some time now, and I'll be surprised if it happens. That said, it sounds like Justin Upton wants to be here, given how many times he has turned down a trade to other teams, and the interest seems to be mutual.

Ok the Dbacks really want to get a deal on Upton or Kubel done by Friday. I feel if we don't have Upton by then, it will never get done. A lot more rumors around a possible deal with us getting Upton are popping up though.

I'm feeling the same way. It makes too much sense, I could understand if he was a FA after this year being hesitant but he will be under team control for two seasons.
