If it is Williams it would be best to keep it quiet. If he's seriously considering flipping the last thing anyone needs is Dabo's crew jumping all over him.

Like you guys have said, signs point to Mike Williams. Tramel Terry popped into my head, but it is inconceivable to think that he would show interest . . . woops, early enrollee nevermind. I don't know much about Williams, but I will say that he an impressive offer list (assuming rivals is accurate with those things). Would be great to steal a tiger, especially because this was a guy we pursued pretty strongly up until his commitment.

Losing Yannick to Maryland will really get on my nerves if it happens. He really cannot walk into a better (on the field) situation than the one he will walk into at USC. Although this ultimately hinges on his performance, USC will position him better for the draft through greater publicity (more national tv games, espn talk show exposure, etc), SEC in-game experience as NFL prep, more surrounding defensive talent . . . the list goes on and on. Maryland is home and I understand that, but COME ON MAN! 6-20 over the last 2 years, IN THE ACC!!!

Why bash Kornblut? He's just a journalist doing his job. If anyone deserves censure, you should bash the pay-site that apparently reported this "mystery recruit" information (I have not read it, so I am basing this only on others' information).

That apparent "insiders" report - done solely for financial gain - has already blown whatever cover there was. If everyone here can reasonably speculate who the so-called mystery-man is, you can bet that the recruit's committed school is on alert, and the coaches at that school will do everything possible to stop the supposed visit. Maybe the school knew. or would have known about the visit anyway, but the pay-site's apparent teasing of this mystery-man information has done nothing positive to help USC's chances.

That's not Kornblut's fault.

And yet we've never been his leader. Ever. I keep seeing people say they'd be disappointed to lose him but we've never "had" him. And playing at home where your family can watch easily trumps all that other stuff for some guys. We had several guys stay home when we weren't that great for the chance to make the home team better.

Nothing is certain yet, but it shouldn't surprise anyone if he has decided to stay home.
