This does not take into signing players for the last years class as we did with the EE's this year as well as, take for example the 25 limit when we signed more than 25 in 2007(31), 2003(28), 2009 (29), 2005 (28), 2011 (32)...... Once again the coaches work the numbers and they always workout.

Exactly. The only thing I was wrong about was about how many LOIs we can send out in 2014 and 2015. And even I'm apparently wrong about that too.

The article from the NCAA says we can only send out 22 LOIs in the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 academic calendar years. I was always under the impression that the academic year began in August when freshmen enroll. If that is not correct then we can only send out 22 LOIs this year and next year then be back at 25 for the 2015 class. Otherwise it is 25 LOIs this year, 22 next, and 22 after that.

But we are going to use all of our LOIs because we have to. It would be foolish to only sign 15 or so and then be way under the 82 cap (which is already reduced from 85).

Are you giving a top number of 81? I have seen 83 being floated around a few times, is that not the limit?

You obviously either didn't read or don't understand my original post. There are only 5 seniors on our roster. This is the smallest senior class I can remember. Normally each senior class has between 15-20. If you only lose 5 seniors and only 5 juniors (estimated) will come out, that only leaves 10 spots. Couple the fact that we have had our annual limit and total scholarships limits reduced by 3 in each of 2013 and 2014 year. Now you do the math. Tony Morrell of TBS says he expects our 2014 class to be around 15.

I don't.....I was only using that as an example. If they don't leave, then our 2014 class will likely only be 12.

This is why I don't understand the drive to sign 23+ next year... poor math skills. If we have 82 (after filling up the roster this recruiting class, or with walk-ons earning spots in the spring), then lose five seniors (78), and another five or so Juniors/Transfers (72)... then you add on 23 incoming freshman (95), you are now in a position where you have to tell 13 kids who you recruited to come here, who you trained to be gamecocks, who want to be here... (Shrug) "Oh well son... we have some new guys who we want more than you." That's despicable.
