Whomever it is, I say we let it lye!! If they want to come in on a top secret visit, then I say let him come in without worry of being outed and let him see what we have to offer. If at that time he feels that this is the place for him to spend the next 3/4 years, then announce it publicly. Whoever it is, once it's known, the current school that he's committed to will unleash the hounds to try and get him to change his mind if he does happen to decommit!!

What I am saying is, why ruin the chance for the school to get the kid on campus. If he is going to take a visit behind the back of the school he is committed to (without them knowing), why ruin it and let the kids name out before he steps on campus?

David Johnson is taking an OV to Vandy this weekend. He openly told our staff and has been honest about it. That is different than this situation.

As far as us taking a bunch of kids from GA and NC, well, yeah, cos those states are overflowing with HS talent, and the NC schools especially have shown a complete inability to develop top-flight NFL prospects. I just don't like when a local kid, who has options at USC or Clemson, would rather pack up and go somewhere else in the SEC. I'd understand if the in-state schools couldn't produce/develop talent, but both USC and Clemson have proven that they can.

If that's hypocritical, well then, so be it.

Local kids going elsewhere doesn't bother me (at least not in the sense that I am pissed off at the kid). I did it (from Pennsylvania) for a multitude of reasons. If some kid from Columbia falls in love with Kansas State, I can't fault him for doing what he believes is best for him. I don't feel like any kid owes us just because they live in South Carolina, I think it's the recruiter's charge to convince him Carolina is the place for him.

Didn't know that Johnson is looking around. I guess he is aware of our staff's search for LBs and feels left out/underappreciated or something. It would be a shame to lose him this late in the process.

Its nothing like that. Its a courtesy visit for Vanderbilt since they have stayed on him the entire time.

Moe Brown did the same thing. Visited Tennessee right before NSD as a courtesy.
