yea if you listen to the audio, you get the context of it better. The guys reporting it are trying to make it sound like hes bashing Lawing.

what do you expect him to say about Lawing, if he says yes we are missing a great coach, it says that he has no confidence in the new coach.

The deal is, Spurrier is loyal to his players and coaches. He bid Lawing a fond farewell and turned his attention to Adams. He didn't bash Lawing; he just supported Adams in his usual style. He was also making it clear that Lawing's move was lateral, not a step up. Carolina is not a step down from Florida.

Adams will benefit from coaching with Spurrier. I'm excited to see him coaching our guys.

It's a lateral move in that he did not receive a promotion to go. But in terms of program level, he's going to an SEC foe that recruits A LOT better than we do, and is considered in the top programs in the country.

This is true, but we've had more recent success than UF.
