He really is a great man. I went to visit one of the old men that is in the VFW with me at the Dorn VA hospital year ago who was a huge Gamecock fan. Well Carlton found out that he was a big fan and got a baseball signed by coach Tanner and brought it to him. You would have thought that you gave this old fella a million dollars the way he held onto that ball and showed it to everyone.

I see Carlton at just about every basketball game, mens and womens, and I always want to speak to him but always find myself without anything to say. So I just smile and nod.

It's obvious that the twitter isn't his. Read the info. It says not affiliated with the real Gamecock Jesus. But none of the tweets have been anything close to damaging his reputation. Just tweets about gamecock sports. What is wrong with that?

Carlton is one of the nicest, most genuine people you'd ever want to meet. Just go up to him and give him a high five or get your picture taken with him. BTW, he does read Cockytalk so I can guarantee you he will see this thread at some point.

Carlton is a super nice guy. He's been attending games since 1968, and the name "Baseline Jesus" was started at Clemson, when they posted his picture all around their campus to make fun of him, and he embraced the name.

He brings with him mentally handicapped patients from the hospital, buys their tickets, gives them programs and food etc. Great guy with a big heart and a passion for his Alma Mater.
