Damn, I feel bad for you basketball fans on here. This one probably stings.

You kidding me? After the last 3 years? I'm glad Florida put a clinic on us. We need to attend a few basketball clinics. We're pretty much starting from scratch. Maybe Florida's game gave Martin some ideas of things to try that worked so well for them. We're still on pace for the NIT, and I would be impressed with that.

Some times you just need an ass whipping to put it on track. This was a good one and it will only help moving forward.

Just hope none of our recruits back out.

The difference between Martin's teams and Horn's teams: Frank will find a way to use this as a way to get better. Horn would let this begin a 2 month stretch of non competitiveness games where we aren't even close. Like the UK games did the last 2 years.

Florida in SEC play:

UGA: W by 33
@ LSU: W by 22
@ TAMU: W by 21
Mizzou: W by 31
@ UGA: W by 17
@ Miss St: W by 35

Although it definitely stings, let's not take this loss and jump off of a cliff. They've been killing pretty much everybody they have played. We are the 4th SEC team of 7 they've beaten by 30+. Our team still beat Arkansas by 20+, led ranked Mizzou late in CoMo, and has been competitive in every other conference game. It still only counts as 1 loss. I know it's not a lot to hang our hats on, but look at what has been left behind from the Horn era. You can see glimmers of hope. Give CFM some time, losses like this to Final Four-caliber teams are going to happen with a team like this.

Its a talent thing right now. It has nothing to do with "clinics".

It's a combination, It's only Martin's first year, he hasn't worked long enough with these guys. He's having to teach these dudes fundamentals because Horn did not teach them anything apparently.

We just have nothing to work with. The talent deficit between us and UF is huge.

You had a well-coached, well-oiled, senior-laden machine in Florida take out a very inexperienced, under-talented and fundamentally deficient Carolina club tonight. Sure, it was heinous, but I actually think they'll be better for it. Kinda like when Bama bitchslapped Michigan at the beginning of the football season- now you know just how far you have to go to compete with the big boys. Yes, we're further away to being competitive in basketball than Michigan was in football, but Hoke/Martin inherited similar jumbled messes.

Watching last night's game, it was clear just how far Horn had dragged this program into the damn gutter. It was going to have to take someone of Martin's caliber to come in here and get the job done.

Not shocked...but damn we couldn't even score 40.

I'm not too upset...as mentioned Florida has been beating everybody by about 35 a game.
What we saw was just how bad Darrin Horn did....

Martin will take this to make the team better, count on it.
Plus, this may help in recruiting....you wanna play early, well come to USC.
