**USC vs. Florida GAME Thread**

I was there - Florida is that good, but I really didn't expect us to miss so many shots from everywhere. We did get some breaks during the game, but couldn't take advantage of them.

What stood out to me was the body type of the Florida players compared to ours. Their guys are physical specimens while our guys (exception is Jackson, Carerra, Ellington) are bean poles.

If both teams got into a fight the outcome would've been worse than the score of the game. We are physically, soft.

Those are Horn's guys you're talking about. I appreciate that they're all Gamecocks, but I don't think Horn had any idea - even with three years experience - what he was up against in the SEC. He recruited for mid-major basketball and left us grossly undersized. It'll take Frank Martin at least two more recruiting cycles to build a roster that looks like a real basketball team. The current freshmen are a good start.

I know this sounds denigrating to the legacy guys, but it's really not meant to be. I love watching them play and improve (except for the Florida game) and in a way, their small size gives the team an underdog personality that's fun to root for. But I WILL be happier when we look and play like a high major basketball team.

The transfers of Holloway, Gill, and Harris really hurt our size. I don't think his recruiting of size was a problem. He just didn't recruit scorers/shooters and guys who could translate to the next level.
