The kid and his Coach are handling this first class. Only thing I will add is that there are a lot more jobs as a LB in the NFL than FB and the pay is typically much better for a LB. Either way I wish the young man well.

Chris Clatrk of GCC is now hearing we may be leading according to the Auburn Rivals web site. He is going to call the coaches tonight and tell them his decision.

I think Jonathan knows Skai is more likely to pick us and he didn't want Yannick to pick us as well, then he would be the odd man out since we weren't going to take 3 LB.

USC only has 2 LOIs to give so the first 2 that jump on board is who they take.

If there is going to be any movement on the Lyons front, it has to be this weekend. But from the sounds of it, Pruitt and Haggins pretty much firmed Lyons up.

good stuff, I think the Quin Smith comparison mentioned above is spot on. Walton seems to be a big guy, more of a run stuffer. We can always use those kind of guys

Quin Smith was close to 200 lbs. coming out of HS and was more of a safety, took a couple of years to get big enough to be a legit LB. His first year he only played on special teams due to his size. Walton is big enough to play LB right away.

People seem pretty unhappy about our recruiting abilities due to Ngakoue going to MD, but Walton is a case (assuming that we do get him) where we beat out a traditional power/LB factory in Penn State, then turned around and beat out another traditional power/home state school to get a player. And this guy is a true LB - Ngakoue might not have helped right away as he is more of a DE/LB hybrid.

I believe that we actually have 5 LOIs remaining, not counting Vickers as a LOI signer since he will be a placement and does not need to sign a LOI. 20 committments - Mitch and Park (2) - Vickers (1) = 17 commitments that are proected to sign LOIs right now. 22 max LOIs - 17 = 5 remaining (including Ronnie Martin who I believe signed a LOI during the JUCO early signing period in Dec.).

They currently don't plan on giving him one.

From what I was told recently, USC is only taking 2 more. The first 2 to commit get the spots then they are done. It is pretty obvious that they want to carry scholarships over to 2014.

Several sources say Walton has decision made. One report sites his coach as saying he will make his "decision" tonight. Hopefully this means he will announce.
