From what I was told recently, USC is only taking 2 more. The first 2 to commit get the spots then they are done. It is pretty obvious that they want to carry scholarships over to 2014.

C2, that makes more sense. We have more remaining but want to carry them over to 2014. Excellent planning for recruiting staff that some feel do not know how to plan.

If we only take two more commitments for 2013, how many would that leave for 2014? I'm sorry for asking this, as I'm sure I'm probably the 500th person to ask, but I can't remember the thread it was in that gave the definite answer.

If there is going to be any movement on the Lyons front, it has to be this weekend. But from the sounds of it, Pruitt and Haggins pretty much firmed Lyons up.

If you take Vickers off our commited list, I think we have 3 LOI's.

Approximately 14-16 depending on next years attrition and any in this class that don't qualify.

Its a rule of thumb. USC has rarely taken a class of less than 20. I wouldn't expect it to be much different in 2014.

In fact the smallest class USC has signed under Spurrier has been 23.

yeah, I hope we can get 22. If we cant sign 22 with all the instate talent and out of state talent interest for the 2014 class will make it very tough to turn away some really talented kids who want to be gamecocks.

If all of 2013 enrolls (I'm assuming 21 kids) .. USC would have 75 on the roster. So the starting base would be a class of 7.

IMO, you then remove Clowney, Quarles, Hampton, and Fish. That gets you to 11.

Then you look at the guys that have been in the system 3 years but haven't done much. Mason Harris, Shamier Jeffery, Will Sport, Sharrod Golightly, Marcquis Roberts, Drew Owens. Not saying they are leaving the program but if you had to pick guys for attrition, they would be logical guesses.

That gets you 17.

Then you have to take in consideration Shon Carson, Ahmad Christian, and/or Kwinton Smith possibly being re-drafted in baseball. Its far fetched but it could happen.

There is alot of ways to work the numbers. We don't even know who will be an academic casualty from this class yet.

So while it doesn't appear on paper, just like it did this past season, when we thought we were limited on spots I fully expect USC to take a class of at least 20.

As of right now we have 85. Take off the 20 seniors plus Lattimore, Saunders, Smith, Clifford, Ford, Gresham and Fish......that's 27, subtract from 85 leaving 58. Let's assume we get 2 more in this class, that makes 21....add that to 58, giving you 79. Next year we only lose 4 seniors Shaw, Sutton, Patrick and Legree plus Clowney, Hampton and Quarles....that's 7, subtract than from 79 leaving 72. That means next year's class can be 10 plus attrition, plus any kids that don't qualify in the 2013 class.....let's say that's 6 (using the players you mention), then our class next year can only be 16. But if only 4 of those players leave, then our 2014 class will be 14. The only way to get to 22 next year is to get rid of 12 and I don't think that will happen.

I assume you are saying that because he was a 2* recruit?

The truth is that Zandi actually up to 315lbs already and the coaches love his upside and potential.
