The coach said earlier he absolutely did not want to wait to NSD to commit. And this afternoon everything was pretty final, decision had been made, he was to go home, calling both staffs and announcing. Not announcing tonight makes me wonder if a family member is trying to talk him into waiting.

After isom nothing surprises me. That was painful to see as a gc fan. A true kick in the gut.

Byron Isom, prospect in 2006 class, was tied between us and Auburn. Wanted to play DL and we recruited him for DL and AU recruited him for OL. He was big lean (supposedly) to USC but then waffled back and forth to AU when Turbeville promised him a shot to try out for DL. In the end he chose AU very close to NSD, but at one point the Rivals sites for both programs were simultaneously claiming a commitment from him....

Thats a relevant if not cool story (points). The follow up to it is pretty mixed though. Isom actually ended up playing OL at Auburn, not DL. His senior year, he started on the OL and won a BCS title with cam. Went undrafted and was cut by the vikings.

That's not even the complete story about Isom. He was dressed up in USC gear head to toe on the way to the school on NSD. He literally changed his mind on the car ride.

Or the kid that chose us on his official this year while Texas am visited his parents and when he got home his dad flipped him. Name slips my mind, juco lb who would have been an early enroll. The longer this goes, the more antsy I get.

he failed to mention that byron was decked out in gc gear at the table with pen in hand. he then stood up, walked over to his parents had a chat and then sat down and signed with auburn..at the moment it was a kick in the gut.
