Looking forward to it. I still want to milk the investment made on the PS3 before jumping into the next generation. GTA V coming late this year + a huge list of games I still haven't gotten the chance to play (e.g. Batman: Arkham City, Resistance 3, etc..) + not having that much gaming time anymore will delay my purchase of the next PlayStation, but this is pretty exciting.

Yeah I'm still not through with my PS3 either since I didn't get it until summer 2008. I hope they have a reasonable launch price this time. I hear the Nextbox is going to be around $300-400 which is doable for me. My stimulus check bought my PS3 lol.

In related news, the xbox working title is supposedly being revealed in March at the developers conference. I post that in here because it's based of a shaky rumour so it would be pointless to make another thread.

Also, the report said they had heard the ps4 and xbox new consoles will have similar features as far as graphics goes.


Who knows if that's the case. I have a feeling that most of the leaks are just inverted info from the two parties.

Can't wait to see it and find out some real specs. Biggest thing for Sony this go around after the PS3 release will be what price they start the PS4 at and what MS does in response with the release of their next console.

I hope they really push PS+ with the next console.

The first releases will probably be a marginal stepup from the PS3, but as the years go on it should get a lot better. It's 4 gb compared to what 512mb of video memory in the ps3?

I have not owned a gaming console since the Dreamcast but I just saw on CNN a little while ago that the new Playstation will not be able to play used games? So if you buy a game it is stuck to that console for life and you can't borrow games from friends to play on it. That seems like an awful business plan if true.

This is both sides(same thing has been rumoured about the new xbox) BIGGEST issue and needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.


It would be the worst direction on their part, IMO.
