On Saturday, Feb. 2 former lightweight champ Frankie "The Answer" Edgar drops to 145#'s to challenge Jose Aldo for the featherweight title. Also on the card is the return of Alistair Overeem taking on Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva in the heavyweight division. Below is a link to the video promo for this stacked card. Enjoy!!

Two more days til throw down! Knock on wood, the ever present injury bug has been absent for this event, though Bellator lost a good lightweight fighter the week leading up to their Spike TV debut. Patrick's "Pitbull" Friere suffered a knee injury in training.

This is a really good fight card, I'm taking:
Jose Aldo over Edgar
Rashad Evans over Nogueira
Alistar Overeem over Silva
Jon Fitch over Maia

I've never heard of the most of the prelim fighters ... we'll see how this turns out!

Jose Aldo over Edgar (should be really good i'm a big Aldo fan but i wouldn't be surprised to see Edgar somehow pull it off)

I like the first three picks you got there, but it would shock me greatly to see Maia over Fitch. Maia is the more exciting fighter but Fitch just wins, baby! He may be boring and yeah, he rarely finishes, but he is a helluva fighter to try and beat. All things being equal on their feet, Fitch has a better ground game (wrestling vs BJJ) and the strength advantage to back Maia up.

A couple of observations...

Gleason Tibaeu is a much bigger looking fighter than his opponent Evan Dunham!

How did I miss that Joseph Benevidez was fighting Ian "Uncle Creepy" McCall??

"Bigfoot" Silva looks a lot like Andre the Giant, just not as giant! Overeem looks like he's gonna kill someone... damn!

Lil' Nog has got his hands full with "Sugar" Rashad Evans.

Joe Rogan looking ripped in his tshirt and full sleeve tats. He is a black belt in TKD and BJJ!

Frankie "The Answer" Edgar looks great as does Jose Aldo. Two powerful men right there!!

Update: Figueora and Rivera made weight, but Kimura did not. According to Ariel Helwani, 20% of Kimura’s purse will be forfeited to Chico Camus.

Just got to BWW to watch the fights! Came in at the end of round two of Green vs Volkmann.

Hope to give blow by blow comments on each fight for those not able to see the action. Hope to get some opinions from all the fight fans tonight on CT!!

Green took a shot to the nads to start the 3rd rd, and then turns it on! Takes Volkmann down and lands in sidemount but lets him up with no damage. Takes him down again and now works to a mount. Ground and pound to soften him up, and finishes with a rear naked choke. Immediate tap by Volkmann, and two handed at that!

Got a barnburner coming up! Tyrone "T-Wood" Woodley vs Jay "The Thouroughbred" Heiron. Could be fight of the night. Heiron fills in for an injured fighter on short notice, so he will be the underdog.

Hop-lee-chit!!! A superman punch from T-Wood drops Heiron!! T-Wood mounts and rains blows to the head til Heiron goes stiff (you coulda surfed with his body!) and the ref stops it at :36 of the 1st rd.

Now it's Camus vs Kimura to fill time after that lightening fast fight prior.

Kimura has Camus in his guard and attempting an arm bar after a failed triangle choke from the bottom position. Kimura rolls thru an omaplata shoulder lock and is on his feet now. Back into bottom with Camus in his guard. Kimura is VERY active off of his back (lol)!

Round 2- both on their feet but not much action. I guess Camus doesn't want to be in Kimura's guard anymore. Clinch against the cage... and back to the mat. Camus having to defend more arm locks and a triangle attempt. Saved by the bell.
