I was talking with someone and they told me Williams is probably the biggest get of the class. He is going to play next year and they wouldn't be surprised if he ends up taking snaps from Wilds and Davis by midseason.

Kid is big time.

We see his ability and work ethic but we have 2 VERY good backs coming in. C2 do you figure we'll try putting an alabama type system to work like they have done since Ingram/Trent?

I am not disagreeing but I have heard the PT statement a few times about various players. Personally, I hope it proves out because it means we just upped our level of play.

I am too young to have seen George Rogers play, but from what I have read and heard about him, I know enough to draw some similarities between Rogers and Williams. Both guys are pretty tall for their position, and Williams also has the break away speed that Rogers had. A big running back with legit speed to be a homerun threat is hard to come by, especially with as much talent as Williams has. Look at how many tall running backs are the NFL with 4.4 speed; Steven Jackson is the only one that comes to mind. I am not saying he is going to be the next Heisman trophy winner, but I just see him having a similar running style to Big George.

For those who were lucky enough to see George tear it up at USC, your thoughts on the comparasion between him and Williams?

I really don't think they are that similar. George was much more a bruiser with speed. Williams is a lot more shifty and not near as physical.

Williams seems to have terrific vision that combines with his speed to set up a run. Not a hefty Rogers type.

Tough tough comparison for any RB to Big George. Dude was just on another level, he could knock you on your ass or leave you in the dust, and what a burst. I look forward to watching young Mr. Williams develop and if shows flashes of George, we will all be smiling.

Blend of speed and power, with shiftiness and balance.
