Look, I get it. I played baseball through high school. I strictly follow all guidelines concerning no-hitters and perfect games (unless I want to ruin it, of course.) All this will do is foster hostility, jokingly or otherwise, to members unfamiliar with this subforum or CT in general. It will derail threads with empty off-topic posts.

What if someone wants to post the weekly update from Chasing Omaha? General practice is to provide links, so that's out the window. I'm just trying to seal this away before people start actually getting mad about it.

Edit: And if you're all just being purely good-natured about this and won't let it seep into other threads, then go right on ahead. I guess I just have a different sense of humor.

Perhaps some of y'all need to check out the "2013 Rules for Gamecock Baseball" thread, especially if you're new around here. Then you won't be surprised when you are lamblasted for breaking one of them during the season. The great majority of us who hang in The Sarge have been around Gamecock Baseball longer than some of you have been alive, and some of us were actually part of the Gamecock Baseball program (like myself). We've been living by these Rules LONG before June 29, 2010, and we're not going to stop just because some newbie comes in and tries to tell us we're crazy for it.

To that end, it does not require logic; it requires cooperation. I am ok with the rule because it is a "no harm no foul" rule. Meaning that there is no harm in not mentioning that place if everyone agrees to it. It is almost a "better safe than sorry" sentiment, except that no sane person actually believes that violating this rule would change the course of the yardcocks' season.


Now is cack serious? - yes. He is known for being quick with the banhammer and less so for his mercy or fairness. This rule will undoubtedly lead to some well-meaning and great baseball fans getting banned from this free site. Those are the costs though (to put it into a phrase).

Question: Why would you expect a free site to be more welcoming than the paysites? This site is not asking for your money but it is asking you to play by the rules-as arbitrary and ridiculous as they may seem. With you not having to pay a dime, it should be easy to decide whether you want to stay here or move on to another free site that is more accommodating to your preferences.

Uscsabres, try to understand, that I do want you as a fan. I just don't want you to do some crazy shit. I seen this one shit on cockytalk a couple weeks ago that made me sick. Some dude was drunk and drove his car over a bridge and had his girlfriend in the trunk, and she was pregnant with his kid and in the car they found a tape, but they didn't say who it was to - Come to think about, his name was.. it was YOU

It is extremely bad luck to walk around talking about the city in Nebraska even though we have owned it recently.

There is some background to this.

I'm going to trace it to the Wake Forest team who arrived at the Columbia regional in 2000 and the whole team was walking around in t-shirts that said "We're Going to ____!!!" [insert Nebraska city name] And then they got blown out of the building.

It's just really bad luck to bring up that stuff.

And as we know from Clemson's hats, it also looks pretty lame.

I know it helps for recruiting. I just think we should watch out and not get overconfident. I'm very superstitious about this. And the whole Johnny Cash thing. Creepy.

There's always at least one in every crowd. Nobody is acting like they're greater than anyone else, but when people purposly act like pricks to fire people up, after being asked to stop, that's called trolling and its against the rules here ... Which is ban worthy.

It's not life or death, but its taken seriously. Understand and accept that, move on, or we'll move you along. Case closed.
