Depends on the crab...some crabs are fished according to quotas set by local governments (not suppliers) because they are indeed overfished (or believed to be). So there is only so much being harvested every year. Couple that with the markup by suppliers and the cost of shipping things from Alaska result in a costly product.

We have a place that does $21.95 all you can eat crab legs every day down the road from us. Not a bad price at all...comes with a side and drink.

There are actually like 2 or 3 (probably more)...one is Oyster Catchers, one is called the Crab Shack.

The one back in SC I liked was in Murrell's Inlet and they actually had live mermaids in a tank (teenage girls dressed in mermaid outfit swimming around). Ha!

Our grocery store will put them on sale occasionally and are worth buying then, but not at full price.
