Any truth to the rumors the University of South Carolina has a Super Bowl commercial?

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Some 100 students from an advertising class at the University of South Carolina are gathering to watch the Super Bowl and critique its commercials.
Students in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications use special remote controls Sunday to evaluate commercials on likeability, persuasiveness and brand identity.
Advertising professor Bonnie Drewniany says the class picks a winning commercial. The ad team that created the spot wins the "Cocky Award," and is invited to campus to share how they made the commercial.

Yes, it was Pierce Cook. He's from Columbia, went to Irmo HS and USC.

Someone on my facebook news feed posted about how excited they were USC had a Superbowl commercial and the great national publicity we would get from it.

I just faceplamed quietly. I didn't feel like correcting them. haha. Yes we had one but it only aired locally. Much like the car dealership and local news commercials that aired tonight.

Nope, it was the other Doritos commercial, the one where the dad (and his football buddies) end up playing dress-up with the dad's daughter cause she has Doritos. It was actually pretty funny.

Also, the University of South Carolina commercial that did in fact play during the Super Bowl only aired in the Greenville, Columbia, and Charleston markets.

Yes, immediately after the USC commercial was another local commercial, which confirmed it to me. I like the USC commercial for the most part except for the 'Toast' at the end. I can't imagine anyone not affiliated with the school in some capacity would understand what the hell they're doing, and we're not marketing the school to ourselves, so that part of the commercial could use some clarification.

My wife has been saying that all year long when they play that commercial during usc football games

I thought the same thing. But a friend of mine said he saw it in Dallas.
