I know some general numbers thrown out there, but if we did get Moore to end the class, how many would we have that could early enroll next cycle? |

![]() I could withstand a little drama if the talent is worth it.
I mean, remember it was Clowney who extended his decision until Valentine's Day to make sure he was the only one in the spotlight announcing his decision, which of course was fueled by ESPN. If he had picked Clemson or Bama, we would still be talking about what a prima donna he was. Now the dude's a legend. I'll take a little drama. But with that said, I don't see Bryant here, or at least I'm not getting my hopes up.

![]() I think we would have 1 to carry over, but we may not end up signing everyone because of academics.....I've read where it could be as much as 3, but of course nobody knows at this point.

![]() This is a really good class, best in the last 4 years according to a poster in another thread. Check his numbers. I know Rolin and Langley left, but this class is solid IMO.

![]() If you think we should be a top 5 ranked team in the polls, why would you not think we should be top 5 in recruiting?
We have great players in this class. I just think we should have 4 or 5 more of them.

![]() Because we have major disadvantages to overcome against the teams that are in the top 5 in recruiting every year, and when you have a down year of in-state talent in South Carolina to add on top of it, this is a great class.

But then, in a relative sense, wouldn't that mean that Gilmore, Lattimore, etc should have gone to Alabama or somewhere like that? Now I know you are going to say "but we are working towards competing for a championship," etc. But we were in that 7 win category that you mention when Gilmore came to SC? Gilmore, especially, had nothing more than hope to go in by coming to SC. We didn't have 11 wins at that point. You may not think Maryland is going to be any good, but the kids that grow up there can certainly have "hope" just like Gilmore and Lattimore had for what SC was going to do. Why was it fair to say five years ago that SC was going to start improving and compete for championships, but not say the same could be said for Maryland over Yannick's career? So if you want to criticize Yannick for staying home and playing for Md instead of coming to SC, wouldn't it have been kind of be the same thing for a kid like Lattimore or Gilmore? So whats the difference? |

![]() The school doing the most with the least has been South Carolina. The Gamecocks have signed 13 ESPN 150 prospects since 2009, which is seventh in the league. But the Gamecocks have the third-best record over the last four years (38-15) behind only Alabama and LSU. They’re also one of two teams in the league (along with Alabama) to have won 11 or more games each of the last two seasons.
As the Head Ball Coach himself would say, somebody’s coaching ‘em up in Columbia. Good read! http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/b...e=sec&id=60110 |

Is there a tenuous correlation? Sure. But it's in no way definitive (just as team rankings for actual seasons aren't definitive. See: UGA being ranked ahead of us in final rankings, despite having weaker sked and losing soundly to us). |

The difference is we have Steve Spurrier whose won championships, and they came here with a bunch of other blue chip recruits/players. There was a strong foundation and they DID win the SEC East and played in the SEC Championship Game and barely missed out these last two years. I don't remember us being 2-10 when we landed those guys. Also, I'm not saying I wouldn't take good players because they want to play close to home. I'm saying I'm not going to be disappointed in missing out on someone with those kind of priorities. A person like that is replaceable in my book. |
