Charles Shaw, you can purchase it from trader joes. It is the best of the cheap.

I'll have to try Lucky Duck. I like Barefoot when it comes to the cheap stuff.

Between $10-$13 usually, but Crios Torrontes is one of my favorite whites in any price range.

Cupcake and Bogle both make a good Sauvignon Blanc for under 10.Louis Jadot makes a greay Pouilly for about 20.World Market is a great place to find great wine deals.

Agreed. Just finished off a bottle of Bogle. It was surprisingly good. The wife drinks Cupcake Muscato all the time - but that's basically grace juice.

Tres Picos Garnacha is around $14 at Total Wine.
Juan Gil Monestrell is $13. There is always a lot of value in the southern Rhone at the $15-$20 range. The 07, 09, & '10 vintages are outstanding.

I saw some CHEAP wine at Aldi's. Like $3-$4 bottles, but I'm not a HUGE wine drinker, just keep a few bottles around for other people at dinner really. But I'll buy whatever Shiraz/Cab Sav is <$5 at the Pig. That's how I roll.

The phrase cheap wine is kind of a moving target. For Rhone you can go under 20 and find great stuff. Same with Spanish wine. Loire Valley whites are awesome for summer and are in the $15 range.
Now with cab it is hard to find anything worth a damn under $20. I'm happy to find a nice cab at $30. I forgot to mention that I have found an outstanding Malbec for $20. Ben Marco. It is great, especially the '07 and '09.

This is our favorite go to, low-cost white wine. It is good to cook with and easy on the wallet. I love marlborough sauvignon blancs! |
