Last play penalties
I need some help. What games, nfl or college have been decided by a last play penalty? I can only think of OSU vs Miami in 2003.
There has to be others... |

Can't think of any off the top of my head, although I believe I've seen a couple of games end on the mandatory 10 second runoff for false starts.
Also, the Packers-Seahawks game in September should have ended on an offensive pass interference call. The replacement refs missed the call, and 2 days later the real refs were back. |

This one makes me so mad I hate to even mention it. USC @ NC State in 1986. Thanks to an assist from the timekeeper, a dumb penalty on us on what should have been the final play, and a pushoff in the end zone on an untimed down that made Rod Gardner's pushoff look like little league. JoMo was mad enough to eat nails and pee BBs.
That led to the total assbeating then next year when NCSt came to Columbia. Morrison never lost to State again. Here's some 2nd half highlights from State if you wanna watch. Notice that they flashed the score graphic on the screen during the winning TD.

Giants/49ers playoff game january 5 2003. game ended on an offensive penalty that was called. nfl later apologized for a defensive penalty not being called on the play which would have led to offsetting penalties and an untimed down for the giants. |
