Now that our 2013 class is wrapped up, it's time to look in towards the future. According to Tony Morrell this morning, our staff will have a hard time freeing up 15 spots for this cycle. LB: Bryson Allen-Williams
DB: Cortez McDaniel, Darin Smalls, ?

I'm not counting guys like Da'Shawn Hand and Lorenzo Carter since it will be extremely difficult to land guys of their caliber. Obviously, we would make room any way possible for players that good. I'm really curious to see how guys like Poona Ford, Orlando Brown, and Peyton Newell play out. It would be difficult to turn away guys like that, but we might not have a choice this cycle. It already seems like the staff is cooling on Christian Miller some due to not fitting our LB scheme very well and being a questionable projection at DE.

Regardless of how it pans out, it seems like this class, despite its limited room, should end up being really good across the board. Any thoughts?

I know one thing...it will probably fill up quick.

Keep in mind, I think we will have a close to 30 players entering their junior or RS junior season...the time where they either start contributing, or are advised to look for playing time elsewhere.

We will also have a few spots open with guys leaving for the NFL...one for sure.

So while the class will be small...as they say, the numbers will work out.
And you are right...if Lorenzo Carter and Dashawn Hand commit, the coaches will find space for them.

My only change to your list is at DB...I'd like to see us really persue Nick Ruffin, Denzel Franklin and Quay Searcy to go with Darin Smalls...won't get them all, but one of those guys I think could be really good.

A little late to the punch on 247's part, but it's official (for now, with only 362 days until NSD 2014): Updated Caleb Kinlaw, #1 rated APB in the country, to reflect he has South Carolina as his in-red "favorite."

Scott said as much per an articled referenced on 1/27/13, per C2's post #88 on the Derrell Scott thread.

RB: I believe, we only take 1. That'll be Derrell Scott
HB/FB: Joe blue, of course.
WR: Shaq Davidson, Braxton Berrios, and Isaiah Ford
TE: Kalan Ritchie or Kevin Crosby (probably both, I could see Crosby playing Linebacker)
OL: Bentley Spain and Donell Stanley

LB: Deshaun Davis and like I said, I believe Crosby will be the other LB. (We don't get BAW because he wants to play with Nick Glass and I think he stays with UGA)

We can not close out this class without any DE's. We need at least two. Hopefully, Hand is one of them. Also, does anyone know if Joe Harris will be joining the team in 2014?

Well with the limited numbers everyone is talking about, it's hard to say what the coaches will do.
