Harris, who currently is the nation’s top pro-style quarterback prospect for the 2014 class, rebounded from an inconsistent showing at Georgia’s “Dawg Night” camp a couple of weeks ago. The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder made a couple of high-level throws in the one-on-one setting, including a perfectly-timed comeback as well as showing touch on a post corner route. As is always the case, he had the strongest arm of any quarterback in attendance. Auburn is close to offering while Georgia is showing serious interest and plans to attend more than one of his high school games this season.

10/6/2012: Tyler Harris unofficially visits South Carolina Gamecocks

Interesting that this guy is a Top 5 QB per 247Sports, but, he doesn't have any offers.

Apparently he has one of the strongest, if not the strongest, arm in the country.

This kid is actually better suited to do what Spurrier wants than Barker imo.

So does Will Grier (my favorite QB in the pool of prospects we are looking at).

I also believe one of the guys said at TBS that Spurrier and the staff are going to wait and see how Connor Mitch looks in the Spring before making a play on one of these drop back guys.

Hopefully Mitch lights it up or shows good progression so we can get back to recruiting dropbacks. I'm getting tired of dual threats.

I'd just take the one that seems to have the best vision and quickest reasoning skills. Too bad it is next to impossible to measure such things, and even harder to evaluate when the competition level is so variable at the high school level. I'd say they all have great arms, base the final assessment off of other life factors, such as best times in Gran Turismo, or scores in the math section of SAT. We need a great game manager around here. Connor has balls, and is a gifted athlete, and without pressure can deliver a hell of a ball, but he's not getting the full value out of the play design. I think he knows what that value is, but has trouble getting it done under pressure. Not saying there are many QBs that can do any better, but there are a few each cycle. Let's get that guy. Hopefully Mitch or 'Vich can be that guy.

Playing QB here can be a thankless job. Connor has done well IMO. He's a great Gamecock. He'll have my support until he is finished here.

UGA isn't likely to offer. After Murray we'll have 4 scholarship QBs (Harris is better than them all, in my opinion) and Richt likely will not recruit another QB until '15.
