You can get insurance if you project high enough to play college football.

I don't understand.

I don't understand why we are seeing articles and debates about Clowney sitting out next season.

I have not heard or seen any interview with Clowney or anyone inside the program that even hints at such an idea.

So why Clowney?

Is he the clear cut number 1 player in next year's draft? I ask because I have not seen this argument made for any other player in the last 6 or so years.

I guess Clowney is the first player to be so good as a true sophomore? Is that it?

Isn't Johnny Football a redshirt sophomore next year? Is there talk of him sitting out? I believe the rule is that they have to be three years removed from high school.

I just don't see why this is being discussed and in such a singular way.

I'm pretty sure Clowney would have been drafted out of high school in the first round and after his freshman year would have been a top 5 pick. He has proved enough to everyone for that which is why he's the focus of discussion, plus he's also on a team with a first round projection that had season ending injuries twice.

Anyone that thinks a healthy JC would sit out next year is out of their mind.

Does anyone think the coaches would allow it? Hell No, they wouldn't. He'd get kicked off the team first.

Are there any other underclassmen that have been as highly projected as Clowney with still one year they have to play?

Well, actually it is worth consideration and he needs to consider all his options. Personally, I want him back and I think he will be back. Too bad they don't have a 4 year out of HS rule.

So, I would guess this would be College Footballs equivalent of the Basketball, "One and Done". We could call it, "Two & Rest".

Good Lord, how did we ever get to this point. Apparently its going to be a long time to Spring Practice.

"Yesterday upon the stair, I met a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today, Oh, how I wish he'd go away."

LOL. Just our 2013 opponents wishing their dream would come true instead of the nightmare that's headed their way.

Even the original 'Johnny Football' knows how good this guy is and gives him a nod or jab when they pass each other in the hall or on the field.

"The slender young QB drove his team up and down the field all afternoon long like a madman possessed willing them to keep pace with his team's opponent. Time ticking down. One last drive and that would be it. With shadows lengthening and only a few precious seconds remaining, the youthful QB waved off his team's FG kicker and kicked the winning 42-yard field goal himself."

That was the day the first 'Johnny Football' won his Heisman back in '66 against Auburn, but today JC calls him 'Coach' and now it's time to pass on the torch to one deserving.

Somehow I don't think we have to worry about whether or not JC's gonna play this coming fall.

They didn't just sit out. They tried to challenge the NFLs draft rule and head to it early.
They initially won and hired agents then the NFL came back and said no.
Since they hired agents they were deemed ineligible.

The next year Mike Williams was still a top ten pick and signed a contract with Guaranteed 10 million dollars.

So I wouldn't say it didn't work out for Mike Williams.
