Current Scholarship and Position Breakdown - As of Feb 20

This includes the current class just signed and removes all seniors. I removed Fish (junior) from the list because I have been told he will not have his scholarship renewed. Our max for this year and next year is 82.....2013 and 2014. The following years, it goes back to 85. Our annual cap is 22 this year and next year. The following years is goes back to 25.

Current class......20 (2018 class size 20...85-20+20=85)
Freshman..........17 (2017 class size 17...85-17+17=85)

Juniors...............16 (2015 class size 19...82-16+19=85)
Seniors...............4 (2014 class size 8...78-4+8=82)
Total 78

The class size above assumes no attrition or others leaving early. I know this will not happen, but did this so everyone knows where we stand as of today. Also, the freshmen are the ones redshirted last year.

The 2014 class, as has been discussed many times, is going to be much smaller than usual. However, the other classes all seem to be fairly similar in size which means, starting with 2015, our classes should be much closer to normal. But I repeat, the above assumes no attrition or others leaving early. I have read that the 2015 class in SC is very good, similar to 2014. So this bodes well for us being able to replace good players with new players and our annual cap and max go back to 25 and 85 in 2015.

I'm guessing you're counting Rainey as a linebacker and an incoming LB or 2 as Spurs, correct?

I'll admit to being somewhat unsure exactly how our scholarship reductions are supposed to work, BUT - isn't it (-1) in 2012-2013 giving us 84 this past season, (-3) in 2013-2014 giving us 82 this coming season, and (-2) in 2014-2015 giving us 83 for the 2014 season?

I'm not trying to correct anyone, just hoping someone can clear this up for me.

It's crazy that we have 4 seniors. Our team should be great next season, but even better afterwards!

Rainey is counted as a LB.....plus Holloman, Cooper, Lewis. Current class of LB is Bryant, Covington, Moore, Walton.

Current class Spur is Camara....plus Diggs, Roberts,Golightly.

This is not correct...as stated above it's 82 for 2013 and 2014.

But how many of our juniors are actually redshirt juniors and could possibly leave or not asked back? I figure there are at least 5-10 leaving for personal reseasons or heading to the NFL.

I thought they were moving him to TE in certain situations, not permanently, but I'm not 100% sure of that.
