You can't tell who is or isn't looking at us because there is only ONE offer out right now. They've kept tabs on some other guys but that is the extent of it.

No one really new Connor Mitch was interested until he got his offer.

Just let it play out. USC is going to get a good QB.

There is a reason why we haven't offered more, Harris, Henderson, and Litton ARE statues. That is the reason. We don't like them that much. If we did, they'd have an offer.

No, they don't have an offer because Barker is our #1 target and that is how Mangus operates the recruitment of that position.

If Barker commits to UK and they offer Harris, did the staff suddenly stop caring about his lack of mobility?

Until Barker commits else where, he will be the only QB with an offer.

The way Mangus has recruited QBs has been like this. When he targets his 1st choice, the offer goes out and he recruits the heck of out of the guy until he is told no. When that happens, he regroups and evaluates then usually sends out 1 or 2 offers to the next guy(s) on his wishlist. It has been like that since he got here and it'll probably continue to be the same way. He has never gotten his first choice but the alternative choices have always been really good prospects. Which gives me a comfort knowing that if USC misses on Barker, Mangus has another good option right behind him.

He doesn't handle QB recruiting like coaches that offer skill position players as in you don't see a blanket of offers go out. Its true that the backup plans to Barker are probably not as good or as good of a fit as he is, but it doesn't mean that they are slack and/or they aren't looking at us.

I know two things about Mangus. 1) He can recruit with the best, 2) he can evaluate QB talent.

Harris has a significantly better arm than Barker, but the reason Barker has the offer and not Harris is because he is mobile and Harris is not. We're looking for mobile QBs because that is what our system is. Fun and gun is dead.

Mitch is not mobile. I don't know where you get the idea that a kid who runs a 4.9 is mobile.

Yes, he can scramble for a couple yards or fake a defense out the 1 time he keeps the ball on the zone read, but he is not what is considered by todays standards as a "mobile QB".

Dylan is not mobile either. He runs like he has 2 left feet but the times he has run, he has picked up some yards because teams are not focusing on that aspect of his game. He was successful because he was able to catch them off guard.

As our OL improves in pass blocking, our need for a "mobile" QB is going to start disappearing. It becomes a bonus if the kid with the big arm can also run, but it is no longer a necessity.

Barker's arm is plenty strong enough btw. The 30 second mark is the only throw you need to see. A 35yd strike on the run.

I didn't say Barker didn't have strong arm, but Harris has a stronger arm and is more accurate.

Actually, the opposite. The only one really I like that I see us having a chance with is Barker, and possibly Wolford. I don't really like Harris, he is a statue. You don't have to be the fastest guy in the world, but running the football has to at least be a part of your game. Our offense requires the QB to run from time to time.
