Trust me, we all know you won't stop. I bet you play a lot of NCAA 13 while making snarky remarks about our coaching staff under your breath, thinking you could coach better.

That said, if someone disagrees with your opinion, they're also entitled to post their thoughts. Some people here post with good inside info, or they post a learned opinion based on good knowledge. They aren't always right or don't always post opinion that's popular with the masses, but that's ok...they at least seem to have an idea what they're talking about. Then, there's people like you. ![]() |

JMO but Drew Barker is mobile and has a strong arm. Harris has good pocket presence and can move around but is not a duel threat. Harris arm strength is elite. I expect Harris to get an offer once we do not feel good about Barker.

Another thing .. they don't "prefer" dual threat guys. They want the best available whether it be a pocket passer or dual threat. It just so happens the guys they got for the most part have been dual threats. But look at the offers that have been sent out under Mangus .. Hackenberg (pocket), Brissett (pocket), Wittek (pocket), Olsen (pocket), Lambert (pocket), the guys we signed (Mitch & Thompson) .. USC has offered its fair share of pocket passers and will continue to do so if the situation calls for it. They just happen to believe Barker is the best guy out there so thats why he has the offer and is getting most of the attention.

The argument was; the only reason Tyler Harris does not have an offer is because he is not mobile.
You watched his highlight tape, the 2nd play is him rolling out away from pressure. Looks like he has some mobility. Neither he nor Mitch nor Thompson is ever going to run the zone-read consistently in our offense, 2 of those QBs are already on the team. Which brings me to this. The reason Tyler Harris does not have offer is because Barker is our #1 target and has been from the start. Question for all of our board QB experts that came to conclusion from watching a 3 minute highlight tape and claim Harris is more accurate, has a stronger arm, is the QB you want to offer.....How come Tyler Harris has 0 offers? Can anyone explain that? How come no other coaching staff in America has offered this kid to play QB? |

No doubt no other offer will be sent until we do not land barker.

The line between dual threat/pocket passer has been blurred severely over the years. Quarterbacks are coming along much more athletic than they were in the past..due mostly to new training techniques, offensive systems, etc.. It used to be you had your pocket passer, your dual threat/run first, or just the most athletic guy on the field playing QB. Now you have guys that are truly a great blend of all of the above. I think the whole label thing is moot after highschool anyways...it's just a way for these recruiting sites to classify them

We are not talking about a QB prospect from Montana. Harris is from the heavily recruited state of GA where every school within 6 states combs over the high school talent there.

Have to say I actually agree with readrooster on this one. And that rarely happens. I think he is correct in a lot of his points.
First, Thompson and Mitch are mobile. I read in this thread where someone said Thompson wasn't mobile. Thompson was a Division 1 basketball prospect in high school. He is not as fast as Shaw, but the guy is a flat out athlete. Next, I think he is correct in stating that the "Fun n Gun is dead" in Spurrier's eyes. A lot of people must not have heard it, but Spurrier was asked about the Fun n Gun several months ago and he said that the defenders were too fast now to play that type of offense. His exact statement was that QBs still throw the ball with the same velocity that they always have, but that defenders get there quicker. Therefore, he said, that style of offense doesn't work as well as it did when he was at Florida. |

Brissett went to a team that runs a spread, the idea that he didn't want to play in that offense so he wouldn't choose USC is completely wrong. Wittek is from California. The reason he did not pick South Carolina is not the offense we run, its because he went to SoCal. Olsen we never pushed for. It was between Mitch and Olsen and Mitch is the one the staff focused more heavily on. None of these QBs said, "i'm not going to South Carolina because I don't fit in their offense" |

No, he fits our offense just fine. It doesn't matter if a QB is characterized as "Pocket QB" That doesn't mean you can't run. Mitch can run a little bit. He senses pressure well and is a good decision maker when it comes to throwing it or tucking it and running.

You're stating as facts, saying that you know what our coaches are looking for, that makes it possible for you to be wrong, and all of the evidence to the contrary makes you wrong. Stop wasting time and space, I wanna read about Barker, now how huge your (game)cock is.
