Chad Frazier (2013 PG Prospect)

Gulf Coast (FL) star Chad Frazier ranks among the top prospects in all of junior college basketball.

Frazier, a 6'4 guard, was at one time committed to Oklahoma State ahead of deciding to again open up the process. Frazier averages nearly 20 points per game.

“I have a high basketball IQ. I am a scoring point guard. I can also play shooting guard. I am a leader on and off the court. As a defender I use my length when defending shorter guards. I really score it well off the bounce and ball screens.”

How is the recruiting process going right now and what schools are in play?

Right now I am hearing from Illinois, Texas A&A, UCF, South Carolina, West Virginia, TCU, Washington, Alabama, Gonzaga, UCLA.”

When it comes time to make a decision what are you looking for in a school?

“I'm going to be looking for a program that has playing time for me, and also somewhere that is going to win. I want to play for a coaching staff that I can trust because basketball will end one day and you never know what can happen.”

USC in final two with point guard

6-4 Chad Frazier of Gulf Coast State JC, FL has narrowed his list to Texas A&M and USC according to JucoJunction.com. He dropped UCLA from his list. Frazier will take his official visit to Texas A&M this weekend when USC is playing the Aggies. He will visit the Gamecocks in March. He’s a native of Charlotte. Frazier averaged over 16 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game this season.

As many as we can. The thought is a number of current players will not have their scholarships renewed.

I checked TAMU's attendance numbers and it looks like Aggie Nation is just as apathetic about its basketball program as Gamecock Nation, perhaps more. For their SEC home schedule they're mostly drawing crowds (or ticket sales), between 6,000 and 7,500. They only drew 5,500 for Arkansas but they did show up some against UF and UK drawing 10,500 and 11,000. So I don't expect Chad to be all that blown away by the atmosphere surrounding the game.

TAMU is 16-12, 6-9 in the SEC.

This sounds good for us. He's taking his official to TAM when we are there and then visiting us a few weeks later. No to UCLA could be about distance to home, which could benefit us as Charlotte is practically around the corner.

We have playing time for this guy. He stays healthy and he should get over 25 minutes a game next year. maybe more.

This guy with Sindarious and TY next year? Awesome. Plus he could run the point until TY is eligible.

I'm more excited about the late signing period than I am the SEC Tourney.

Frazier says its even between USC & Aggies

6-4 Chad Frazier of Gulf Coast State JC said Wednesday night he is evenly split between USC and Texas A&M and plans to have a decision soon after his official visit to USC. Frazier will visit Texas A&M this weekend, ironically while the Gamecocks are there to play the Aggies. He has not set his USC visit date but said it will come in mid March.

As of now we don't have any open slots. To make room for others someone would have to leave the program.

Just going by what they have been saying on 107.5 lately it sounds like we will have several players leave the team after this season.

I think that is true. Otherwise we would not still be recruiting players for next season.

Correct, but that is all we have. One PG on campus not eligible til December. We need Chad in a HUGE way. We need both in a huge way.

Fingers crossed he commits to us after his official, or sooner.
