Already with an offer from Clemson, LB Richard Yeargin III of Hollywood, FL has added USC to that list. "I just got off the phone with coach Grady Brown and the defensive line coach (Deke Adams) and they extended me an offer to play defensive end," said Yeargin. "I'm really excited about it because that's my home-state." Yeargin went on to explain that his father is originally from Greenville. USC is not the only school to offer him recently. "It's really blown up the last few weeks with all of the new offers and new interest," he said. "I'm up to 21 (offers)." Those offers include Clemson, USC, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Boston College, Wisconsin, Wake Forest, UCLA, Georgia Tech and Purdue. Yeargin has not been on any visits and has just one scheduled at this time. "I'm going to South Florida's spring game and that's about it," he said. As for his thoughts on the Gamecocks he said, "It's an awesome school. They have Jadeveon Clowney and others. It's a place you can become an impact player at the next level. That's what I want to be." He also has Clemson high on his list. "It's been a battle between Clemson and Florida," said Yeargin. "We've built a very good relationship with (Clemson's) coaches." Though he does not have any favorites, Yeargin named Clemson, USC, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Boston College, Georgia Tech and UCLA as schools of strong interest.

- Richard Yeargin III (Fort Lauderdale/University School) took home MVP honors for his work at linebacker, as well as receiving an invite to The Opening. While the 6-foot-3, 226-pounder plays exclusively at linebacker, a move to defensive end at the next level is a possibility. Florida, Clemson, Florida State, Tennessee and many others have offered.

It looked like a pretty strong good of linebackers in Miami with Yeargin leading the way and taking home MVP honors. This is a big kid (6-4/210) with long arms and athleticism. He also showed he can play in coverage.

LB Richard Yeargin III of Hollywood, FL picked up an offer from Kentucky Tuesday and is beginning to take things in stride. "I'm past the point of getting too excited about each offer," said Yeargin. "I am trying to keep a level head and focus on the right things." Yeargin will visit Florida Friday for a spring practice, his first trip this spring. "I've been there before but it's been so long that I just want to take it all in and learn about the program," he said. He plans to visit Clemson this summer and wants to attend a game in Columbia. "I would love to go to a game at South Carolina," said Yeargin. He maintains contact with both schools. "I'm still building a relationship with Clemson," he said, "and I still talk to coach Grady (Brown) on Facebook." Yeargin does not have any favorites and says he is at least three months away from narrowing his list. He plans to be a signing day decision.

Another south Florida product at the event who is garnering interest from Florida is Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) University School linebacker Richard Yeargin III.

"I talk with the Florida coaches every week, like two or three times a week," said Yeargin III. "Coach Brad Lawing is my main recruiter. He tells me 'We want you, we need you,' you know, the whole talk of recruitment."

The linebacker picked up an offer from Florida in February. He took a trip to Gainesville last month and was pleased with what he saw.

"It was a great visit. I got everything I was looking for and it's a school that I highly consider," said Yeargin III, adding UF is just one of a handful of schools he is currently looking at.

"I really like Florida, Clemson, UCLA, Notre Dame, Michigan, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and that's it."

However, the aforementioned schools are just early favorites for the three-star prospect as offers continue to roll in. He says there are a couple offers that could change his mind.

"It's been picking up a lot lately. I gathered three offers recently from Notre Dame, Michigan, and TCU," stated Yeargin III. "At this point the only offers I would really jump for joy over are Alabama and Georgia."

Richard Yeargin moved up to the No. 17 OLB in the country. He was ranked No. 29. At 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, he moves well, he is very strong, and he was impressive in Miami at the Nike Football Training Camp

RY3, as he likes to be called, displayed a great work ethic in Miami for the RCS tilt. The second half of camp saw plenty of players sitting out because of the heat, but Yeargin took a ton of reps. He broke up a pass on an angle route, showing good instincts and beating his man to the spot without interfering. The University School standout is physical and won't be overpowered by bigger tight ends when he gets to college.
