At 6-3, 280 he's more of a DT IMO....but it was Lawing that liked those tall DE's with length. Perhaps Coach Adams has a different philosophy...

Wideman was 6'4 255 at the Under Armour combine last month.

Yeah, Wideman is not very big, and he is not lanky like we usually like our DEs. But he is strong and fast for his size.

After watching his Poona's video I have three things to say:

1. He seems a little slow off of the snap at times. This is coachable.
2. He is a REALLY good runner for his listed size.
3. Is it power or just a mean streak that I am seeing (or both)? Either way, I really want to see it in Garnet.

as far as number 3. goes I would say it's power AND mean streak, AND excellent leverage.

Definitely just read an article on the local newspaper that said he picked up Missouri and Purdue offers and is expecting around 5 this week including Arkansas, Wisconsin and Arizona who are stopping by the school.

Last season Ford totaled 154 tackles, a figure his coach said led the country among interior defensive lineman. He also had 44 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. "He's one of the most dominating defensive linemen in the country," Payne said. "And he's a great character kid." Ford was a linebacker for most of his career before moving to the defensive line last season.
