Wonder what the NCAA would do about that. Probably nothing if he told the refs during the timeout why he was doing it.

Dude, join the rest of us here on earth. Duke has beaten a 100 teams better than Miami. Honestly, have you EVER seen Duke fans rush the court?

Duke fans don't rush the court after beating UNC. They sure as hell aren't going to do it after beating a Miami team having a good year.

It was a couple of years ago when UNC was complete garbage I think they played in the NIT that year and Clemson stormed the court when they beat a down Tarheel team.

I think storming the court should be allowed, but the home gym should have guards ready to protect the visiting team and escort them off the court for every game.

I think the big issue is with the world of twitter and facebook, people will say and do things that before would have been thought impossible. People don't censor themselves or behavior the same as they used to. Previously, when people stormed the court they were just going to celebrate with the team, but now kids are as much there to celebrate as to take a shot at another team's player or coach. It would shock me, at some of these schools like Maryland, to see a kid punch the other teams start player if they got a chance.

The uva kids were sending tweets to the duke players telling them to watch out if they got the chance to storm the court.

So the bottom line is that I view coach K's remarks as just another look into their sense of superiority and entitlement, i.e. they should never have to suffer the fear of bumping into opposing fans. If they don't want to get the floor rushed, they should just win the games.

you think it would be ok for opposing fans to be able to run up to players and talk smack to them and possibly physically assault them? Today's society is a little ****ed up already so it is only a matter of time before something like that happens.

Fans shouldn't be allowed to storm the court or field at any level in any sport. They put the opposing team, their team, and each other in risk when they do so.

Boom goes the dynamite. Duke rarely rushes the court. They might tonight though. Miami took them to the woodshed earlier this year and towards the end of the game were mocking some of the Duke traditions like slapping the floor on defense. I hope Duke mouth**** them tonight.

I believe they do rush the court after beating unc due to the rivalry being what it is.

News ticker going across the bottom of the screen on espn eludes to the fact the ACC will be evaluating the issue.

I personally enjoy going onto the field after a football game in the acc, especially when I get to walk out to the spot where Clemson's kicker missed the game winning or tying FG and see the view he had.

That was their first win over UNC in like 20 years though.


For everyone's reference, Duke last stormed the court in 2005 when Sean Dockery hit a half court shot to beat VaTech. It was a spontaneous storming, as no one was lined up to do it or anything. The only storming I can remember before that was against UNC in the late 90s.

They don't do it that often, and K never wants it to happen until the other team is off the floor.

Not my fault they lost by 27. I tried to be cool with these Duke fans but they said we got lucky. Blah blah blah. A 27 point beat down is not luck.
