Frazier, from Charlotte, just chose Texas A&M over USC. We couldn't even get him to visit. He is the second recruit we have lost to A&M this season. They are kicking our asses on the court, and in recruiting.

Frazier probably saw how little talent there is on this team and thought A&M would have more success during his last two years.

But, we already have 3 point guards scheduled to be on the team next year. Problem may be having a backup for Smith until Johnson and Ellington can play. And then, there is the problem of having Smith as the starting pg.

We are going to have to get it done without him. TBH, I don't blame the guy. Hopefully he keeps his visit and Martin changes his mind, but I'm not holding my breath.

6-4 Chad Frazier of Gulf Coast State JC, FL committed to Texas A&M over the weekend while on his official visit. Frazier, a Charlotte native, had narrowed his decision to the Aggies and USC. He had planned to visit USC after the A&M visit. Frazier averaged 16 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds per game last season.

If the NFL shows any interest in Ellington, I don't think he'll be back on the bball team. Maybe Martin will sign a diamond in the rough instead of Frazier, or he chooses to wait until the next recruiting period to sign another PG.

Fine. If Johnson is any good, and if he stays healthy, we won't miss Ellington.

We already have Stroman committed for the 2014 class.

Yes, I saw the thread. He is pretty small. Martin says he likes bigger guards. Not sure how much interest we have in him, or he in us. We'll see.

I'm betting Frazier saw Johnson coming in, Stroman already committed, and wanted to play.
Can't blame the guy, he probably wants to win. Hate to say it, but the showing against A&M probably lost Frazier for us.

Isn't Johnson more of a two-guard though? It's starting to look like we're going to be thin as far as legit PGs go for next season....

He's a combo guard who can play either guard slot.

I read that Frazier's personality didn't fit very well with Frank's style of coaching.

A backcourt of Stroman, Johnson, and Mr. Buckets is going to be fun to watch moving forward. If Leonard can re-focus this summer, that will be a dynamic backcourt in 2 to 3 years. Hopefully a surprise big comes in soon. We need a offensive threat in the paint.
