RB Derrell Scott of Havelock, NC was offered today by Arkansas. Scott has been favoring USC. Some of his other offers are Clemson, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Ohio State, Florida State, Maryland and Vanderbilt.

Jay graham is all over Scott now. Most have heard he's the new RB coach at FSU, and he's making Scott a priority. TM believes they're clear #2 and making it interesting

I just watched some of his junior highlights. He has moves like Ace but is almost 6' and seems to run a 4.4. Wow.

One of the most electrifying offensive players in the 2014 class, the 5-feet-11, 175-pound Scott recently had a strong performance at the Under Armour Combine this January in Florida. Scott, who is equally good at running the ball and catching it out of the backfield, should thrive in this type of setting.

Scott is dynamic, quick playmaker. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Havelock star previously had a top four of South Carolina, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Tennessee. But after receiving a bevy of offers over the last month, he has opened back up and claims no favorites.

The 40-minute drive to Havelock from Swansboro for the third stop of the day was due in large part to see class of 2014 running back Derrell Scott, who 247Sports ranks as the nation’s top all-purpose back. 

Upon arriving, we learned that the two time defending state champion Rams were going through off-season testing with the vertical jump and forty yard dash taking center stage.

While Scott’s 35-inch leap and second forty yard dash of 4.40 (hand timed) were very impressive, the speed of the entire Havelock team was an eye opener with a handful of players having ran sub-4.6’s. Make no mistake, the Rams have a very good shot to achieve the difficult three-peat in 2013-14 with the quarterback position being the key after the graduation of South Carolina signee Pharoh Cooper.

Speaking of South Carolina, the Gamecocks continue to be considered the favorite for the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder with Florida State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Clemson and Tennessee giving chase.

As impressive as Scott’s athletic ability and ever growing offer list is his work ethic. During spring break, one individual afternoon workout included 18 100-yard sprints along with intense work in the weight room. Scott currently sports a bench press of 290-pounds, a power clean of 275-pounds and a squat of 405-pounds.
