Went undrafted in 06.
Signed by the Cowboys to attend training camp but cut before the season started.

Then spent 4 years (06-10) in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders.
Won a Grey cup with them.
But after that, can't find anything.

The first few plays are against me and my team! I remember seeing him my sophomore year at Lexington, he was unlike anything I had ever seen at that point in my life. It had to be the easiest game plan ever. Sweep, sweep, sweep, Sweep pass. Touchdown. He ended with about 300 yards.

I saw Lexington vs. Dorman in the state title game. Lexington was up 28 to zero at halftime and Dorman came back to beat them. Lexingtons fullback actually seemed to get more carries than Demetrius that game. Dorman committed their whole defense to stopping him and they did.

You are exactly right. The first thing they check for in recruits now is character, after they identify them on film, of course. Spurrier has a policy that basically says "If you have to consider whether the kid will be a problem, then move on."

That is why Spurrier has always had talent that exceeds the expectations they had out of high school. There is a LOT to be said for kids who stay out of trouble, work hard, and want to get better. Because recruiting is now show business, many of these 5* kids have huge egos and entitlement issues by the time signing day comes around. Those kids are a crapshoot, despite their talent. The kind of kids we recruit now are such that the only risk is that they just can't adjust to college football and never play. I really like the philosophy Spurrier has in recruiting. It is very hard for a kid to respect you as a coach when you kissed his butt and promised him everything in the world while you recruited him. Better in the long run to stay a coach while you are recruiting, and not a groupy used car salesman.
