Geez, some people are so sensitive! Watch the link above. Believe it or not, Tosh does follow sports - and I think it's actually a compliment, calling 11-2 mediocre for Spurrier.

Also for what its worth, I'm a Marine, and as long as any military jokes he makes are funny, I'm fine with it. Soldiers/Marines/Sailors are people too. Hell, I bet he'd be one of the most popular comedians to do a show on a USO tour nowadays. There is definitely a generation gap. He's this generations George Carlin, the difference is, you can say most of 'those words' on tv now, so the envelope gets pushed further. Saying 'bitch' on tv doesn't have the same appeal and shock it did twenty years ago. Or saying 'the s word' (I don't know how the forums rules go about cussing).

For those that haven't seen it, once they allowed 'the s word' to be on tv (for some cop drama) South Park immediately made an episode where they said it like 200+ times (complete with a counter in the corner tracking how many times they said it). Wouldn't be shocking to see it now, that it's common. Tosh's comedy is based on shock value (like 'I can't believe he just SAID that?!) so the envelope is pushed. You don't have to like it, and some people won't. But it is what it is, and there's a reason he's been on tv for over 5 years doing this show. I saw him in Columbia last time, pretty good show (if one of the opening acts was a little weak), but I'll save my money this time and just wait a couple months for him to be doing it in LA on tv, it will be the same routine.

a) I'm getting the feeling that if talked about any other university that same way, none of you would care. If Clemson had our record and wins over us, and were called mediocre by someone out of the know, this would be a whole new thread. He's a comedian, making a joke, and shouldn't be taken seriously. The fact y'all are sensitive just means you care a lot about the subject matter (ie the Troops, etc).

b) He did exactly what he set out to do, and that is getting everyone and their mother to spend the last day talking about Daniel Tosh, in whatever way possible. If he doesn't push the envelope, no one watches his show, it goes off the air, and he doesn't get paid. Much like Howard Stern. Love him or hate him, people tuned in the hear what he was going to do next, and either like it or be offended. To each their own. It's America. He's allow to say what he wants, and if you choose to listen, that's on you.

Personally, I saw him do standup before he got "famous," and he's pretty sharp guy. He's just realizing there's more celebrity in being the no-holds-barred guy.
