If the kid has a offer than their's no way we can turn down a 4* In-State kid. If they do this to a hometown kid, I will be extremely PISSED at USC!

I think he knows how tight we are this year, but you could always see him committing and if we get some guys higher on our list, having a little chat about him opening it back up.

Not how that works due to him being from SC. If it is an instate kid you better be sure you want to take his commitment because you don't get to have that talk with an instate kid. That is how you burn bridges you don't want to burn.

Offer was made with the old line coach. Coach Deke could be looking for something different.

If it's true that his commitment would no longer be accepted, hard to see this as anything other than a total bungle. Pulling an offer on a top in-state kid, even this early in the process, quickly becomes big news for SC HS coaches.
I know it's just a guess that this could be Deke's call, but I can't see what he could be looking for that Lawing wasn't, as nothing changed in our scheme.
Anyway, hopefully he commits, it's accepted, and he has 4 great years.

Thats a bad move if the coaching staff chooses to do so. New d line coach or not.

I don't think it's bad that Deke may not agree on some of the same prospects as Lawing, it's bound to happen. I just hope that the staff is very aware of how they handle those offers and is very proactive in talking to those recruits and their coaches, especially with the in-state kids. Though I will say with Pringle... I fail to see how Coach Deke would not want him in the fold

Not saying its bad that Deke may have a different view on a prospect. But we as a school have already offered the guy. I just dont see how anything good will come from not accepting his commit / retracting his offer. But I agree, I dont think Deke is dumb enough to turn away a guy like Pringle.

I don't see turning this guy down. If he truly is considering it, somebody needs to give him a run down of just how big, strong and athletic guys from that area can be. Definitely don't want to poison the waters of the low country.

Remember limited numbers in this class. We have 3 4* talents in state and then another 4* talent in GA that we are in the game for. We have 2 or 3 spots for DT this class. So it may not be a case where you can take all 3.
