OL Donnell Stanley of Latta will be at North Carolina this Saturday for a junior day according to his mentor Chris German. This will be his second junior day. He was at USC earlier this month. Stanley plans to return to USC for its next junior day and also wants to get to USC for a baseball game. He'd like to give baseball a shot in college as well. He also wants to get to Clemson for a baseball game. Stanley will take several visits this summer to schools he has not seen. Among those will be Florida, Florida State, Alabama and Ohio State. Stanley has not narrowed his list and has no favorite between USC and Clemson German said. He is sitting on 14 offers at this point. Academics will play a major role in Stanley's decision. He wants to major in physical education or sports management. Stanley's mother also will play a major role in the decision making process.

You should see this kid hit a baseball, it just explodes off his bat. I don't know how he is as a player. I was with someone i worked with (his daughter plays softball for Latta) and saw this kid hit in the cage and on the field and WOW....a man among boys.

It's a little disconcerting to see him visit UNC again. It has a very good baseball program also. I hope his preferred major gives USC an advantage.

OL Donnell Stanley of Latta attended North Carolina's junior day Saturday. It was his second visit to the campus but this time he got a chance to get a close up look at things. "He got a chance to tour the campus and to talk to coach Fedora with some one on one time," said Stanley's mentor Chris German. "He likes coach Fedora, he thinks he's a great guy. You can tell he's an intense coach from the way he talks but he's a down to earth guy." Stanley plans a third visit to UNC for a spring practice. He's also going to attend a USC baseball game. Outside of that, Stanley has nothing else planned because of his own baseball season. German said Notre Dame is starting to make a big push for Stanley, and he expects Florida State and Arkansas to be the next to offer. And Oregon has been in touch and plans to scout Stanley this spring. German said Stanley remains open regarding favorites.

Stanley is said to be heavily leaning towards committing to the South Carolina Gamecocks, but Alabama, Clemson, North Carolina, and Ohio State all still have just as good of a chance to land the talented offensive tackle as Steve Spurrier does

With his personality, basing this on interviews and such (do not personally know the kid) and the small community he comes from I just do not think he will leave the state. I could be very wrong and Bama is always a worry, but I have a hard time picturing him too far from his family and community.

OL Donnell Stanley of Latta, who also wants to play baseball in college, attended the USC-Clemson game Sunday afternoon in Columbia. Stanley plays first base for the Vikings. He was at USC's junior day last month and plans to return for the junior day later this month. He also went recently to a junior day at North Carolina. Stanley plans to get up to Clemson for a baseball game this season as well. Mississippi State offered Stanley Monday. Some of his other offers are Clemson, Florida State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Alabama, Ohio State and Southern Cal. He has not narrowed his list.

OL Donnell Stanley of Latta will make his second visit to North Carolina in two weeks Saturday when he makes an unofficial visit for the Duke basketball game. Stanley visited Chapel Hill February 24th and met with head coach Larry Fedora. This past Sunday he was at USC for the Clemson baseball game. He did not meet with Gamecock offensive line coach Shawn Elliott in person but he did talk to him on the phone. "He apologized for not being at the game," said Stanley's mentor Chris German. "He was checking to make sure everything went well." Stanley arrived just before gametime and left in the seventh inning, so he didn't have a chance to talk with any of the USC baseball coaches. He plans to return to USC for a spring practice, and he plans to get up to Clemson for a spring practice as well. Stanley continues to remain open about his decision and does not have favorites.
