The issue is that Richardson led the owners during the lockout and claimed the Panthers were losing $200 million because of how much money the players were taking, when clearly that was not the case

I agree. Captain is going to test the market and see if he gets any crazy offers. Otherwise I see him resigning with the Panthers.

Captain is a nickleback only he is not a starting CB. The Panthers are going resign him with no problem. The secondary played better when Gamble was out, this was a needed move.

also i dont understand why ppl upset with Big Cat for asking for money.....the panthers make ALOT of money for that city....from hotels to restaurants and everything in between

I have no issue with any team asking for money from the city/state they're in to finance their stadium for the very reasons you listed. The problem I have with Richardson and the Panthers' financial documents is he blatantly lied in an attempt to get more money out of the players.

Those documents were private they had no business being leaked that is the real problem. Its a business what else do you expect Big Cat pocketed about 12 million as the owner there are players that made more than him, no other business do employees make more than employers... In that course of time Big Cat also knew the chance of lockout was very possible so he did what was best for him and his business that is what makes a good businessman being able to have all future outcomes prepared for.

I agree. Charlotte gave tons of money to the Bobcats and we continue to waste money on the Nascar HOF every year. So if I was Richardson, I would ask for money too.

And I also agree....Richardson is starting to become hated in Charlotte. Running a business is one thing...lying to people is another.

the way i look at it....if it wasnt for Big Cat, Charlotte would never have a team and once he passes there will be ppl trying to buy the team to move it, even if the city puts something in there about staying a certain # of years....im sure there are ways around that if you have the money

btw i would love to get amendola, i know its not gonna happen b/c we dont have the cap space to go and get a WR but i think it would help cam alot to have a guy who he could check down to on the reg when the deep ball isnt there

i say this bc when cam turned things around last year it was when he realized he had to check the ball down if the deep pass wasnt there.....just think he would be a nice fit if we continue down this 3 WR package....hell of an upgrade over louis murphy

but all yall know im still counting on Gettis to come back strong, lol

I'll say it again. This is the biggest draft in Panthers history. So many questions surrounding the franchise. They need to win now. No cap space to get players via free agency so the draft is where it'll have to come from.

If you think things are bad now, wait until Cam leaves in 2 years. Flacco's contract was the worst thing that could happen to the Panthers. Not to mention, Cam wants to be in a bigger market.

The NFL owners (along with the NBAS and MLB owners) created this mess for themselves. If they weren't so busy trying to backstab each other and buy each others players out from under them the players wouldn't be making the huge amounts of money that they are.
