Just for conversations sake, here is a class I wouldn't mind seeing. Although I think we will sign more, I'll stick to 15.

QB - Drew Barker
RB - Derrell Scott
WR - Shaq Davidson, Braxton Berrios, Isaiah Ford
TE - Kalan Ritchie, Kevin Crosby
OL - Bentley Spain, Donnell Stanley
DL - Dexter Wideman, Poona Ford, Anthony Moten
LB - Bryson Allen-Williams
DB - Darin Smalls, Al Harris

Don't forget Joe Blue is already on board. I don't see anyway we can take two TEs this year with the #'s being so tight. We need another big time cover corner as most of the defensive backs we've signed have turned into safeties. I think the 2nd biggest need is an impact DE. I say take away Ford, Ritchie or Crosby and add one of the MLBs from AL, another cover corner, and shoot for the moon on the 5 star prospects we're in on at DE.

That would leave us with a manageable number and room for any more top talent we may be able to pull in.

Ritchie and Crosby are both capable of playing both sides of the ball.

Harris and Smalls are both cover guys. Maybe Smalls moreso than Harris but Harris has great bloodlines.

USC will have Cooper, Lewis, Holloman, Rainey, Roberts, Bryant, Walton, Turner, and Moore at linebacker. All young players at a spot where we only play TWO. They can afford to only take 1 as long as its a talent like BAW.

They aren't turning Isaiah Ford away. USC leads.

Ford has a lot of offers, but still only high 3* according to 247. Any reason we wouldn't turn him away? Just curious. Also, inside info about USC leading? Didn't see that on the recruiting sites.

No idea how I forgot about Blue. Anyway, I'd remove one of the TE's then.

To me, it'll come down to who commits first at wide receiver. Googer is probably a safer pick than Ford, but Bubba has recruited Ford hard and Ford said Bubba is the coach he relates to the best. Bubba says Ford is his guy.

USC has a puncher's chance with Hand and Carter. They are both oversign guys though. You are going to take them no matter what. Any fan putting a bunch of hope that we are going to get one or both of those guys need to chill until they actually get on campus. Particularly Hand who, and this is my opinion, I doubt ever visits.

I think the reason Pringle may not be a take is 1) overall numbers, 2) size. It remains to be seen, but I have a feeling Deke likes a different kind of lineman than Lawing does. Specifically at defensive tackle. Lawing was big on taking undersized guys, high school defensive ends, with above average athletic ability and putting weight on them. I think Deke is going to target hosses. Guys that would play nose guard in a 3-4. I read where Pringle measures in a almost 6'0 .. thats kind of short for a DT and I think that is why they might not take the commitment. Plus they probably have other priorities (Poona Ford, Dexter Wideman).

Andrew Williams (visited for Junior Day and had a great trip)

Derek Barnett (said USC was intriguing because of Clowney)

Jesse Aniebonam (said USC was his dream offer)

Peyton Newell (visited for Junior Day and had a great trip .. although he may be on the board as a DT?)

Keyon Brown (will visit this Spring)

Deondre Clark (USC in the upper half of his list)

They also recently offered Lorenzo Featherston .. I haven't seen anything about his interest level though.

Justin Thornton said he will visit soon too.

As far as Hand goes, all of this Clowney exposure ESPN and others keep pumping can only be good news for us. Hopefully Hand sees all of the Clowney and USC exposure and it is engraved in his mind.

Wow it sounds like we could be a factor with a lot of these guys... so no matter what we should get a quality DE or two this cycle.

USC is going to put together another fine class even with limited numbers. They are in great shape with a lot of players and although we didn't get 7 commitments during/after our last Junior Day, USC still has 1 or 2 more Junior Days coming up. There are some guys that are really close to pulling the trigger. Fans that follow recruiting closely know by now that USC hits its groove in the Summer. The past 2 seasons USC has filled out the base of its class by the start of the season. It'll probably happen again this year barring something unforseen.
