If Ball St and Rider are having this much success against our baserunners, I can't imagine we'll have any more success against SEC catchers. Certainly hope he tones it down for SEC play because runs are much more at a premium.

I was at the game. Beal looked dominant as did Tyler. I think our starting pitching depth is about as good as it's been in a long time.

I disagree. This is the time of the season that we need to learn how to steal. Look at English as an example, he's already been caught several times......he's much to fast to get caught stealing. Coach em up Chad. Keep sending em. They just need to improve their technique.

Attempting to steal is the right thing for us to do a lot of in these games. It isn't just about speed but learning to read different pitchers, situations, etc... The more practice they have at doing it during actual games, the better we should become. It will enable our players to refine their technique after getting tips from Coach. Add to that other teams will be looking for and gameplanning for it, it gives them something else to worry about...kinda like having a running and throwing quarterback.

As the gentleman above me said, it's better to keep trying to do it in these early non-confrence games to get a little better at it. CCH knows what he's doing... gotta get the boys fine-tuned to do it succesfully during SEC play.

Understandable. All I'm saying is we either have to start running bases better or run less bases because getting thrown out 3 times a game in SEC play will cost us.

Give lots of credit to Ryder's catcher. He was making some superb throws, right on the bag or with a tail toward the baserunner, allowing for a quicker tag than normal.
