I never would have thought this 2 weeks ago but with Beal and Wynkoop dealing like they have, Colby has another bad outing or 2, his weekend spot may be up for debate.

That's why he'll come out and pitch great today. He's a senior. He will respond.

Wynkoop does not pitch like he his a freshman. Not wanting Colby to loose his spot, but I would like to see how Wynkoop's stuff stacks up against a SEC team.

It's a good problem to have. Come SEC tournament time when we have 4 or 5 games (hopefully), and we get to run Monty, Holmes, Belcher, Beal, and Wynkoop out there, that'll be pretty good depth to have. I'd put our 1-5 rotation up against a lot of teams. And don't forget Seddon and Koumas who are better starters than relievers

Maybe I'm crazy (it's a very good possibility), but this could be our deepest starting rotation that I can remember. Could just be the 4 shutouts in March have me too high on them, but I have a lot of confidence in whoever we throw out there on the mound each day.

There's no debating it. This is the deepest we've been. There's no true ace but there's 5 guys that are solid weekend guys that could be Friday night guys for a lot of teams. Beal has Friday stuff and he made a spot start for us. Just nuts.

Think about 2010. We were looking all year for a Sunday game. Cooper and Dyson and then Webb and Brown would give us 2 innings in Sunday for Mata to come in and piece it together. Wasn't until Omaha that we found Roth.

2011. It was Roth winning every Friday and Webb/Westmoreland/Koumas/Holmes/Harper/Neff taking turns on the weekend.

Last year was the same story. Roth then Price was not as effective with starting then it was Koumas getting hurt and Holmes was inconsistent again. But this year is filthy.

Not to say the last 3 years we didn't have good pitching. Because our pitching was the thing that carried us. Obviously because we won 2 titles and runner up in another. But it was more bullpen than anything.

Bright in RF looks good. Hoping Holmes starts off strong today with his fastball down in the zone. Lot of great arms backing him up if needed though.

Shon Carson starting in center is nice. Has to be because of Costen's bat. Gonna see if Carson can do any better.
