My favorite hockey injury story was Jeremy Roenick when he played the Coyotes.

Takes a vicious hit into the boards and clearly breaks his jaw (and he knows it)
The play results in a penalty and during the stoppage he skates to the bench, readjusts his jaw/teeth, spits out blood and finishes his shift.

There is no point of arguing against soccer haters.

As much as I love playing basketball, I cant really watch it, the faking in basketball is worse than soccer and most of the time, there is absolutely no contact, yep they still call the foul and stop the game every second.

I like soccer, I like watching football more than I like watching soccer but I played soccer as kid and up until college. People definitely get hurt playing it. I got hurt pretty badly a couple of times. I also go hurt badly playing basketball once or twice. My knee still locks up on me from one of those injuries. Despite rules changes in soccer though, players still get injured. Football fans want football to remain a contact sport. That is why they like it. They don't want it to be like soccer and basketball and with every rule change its becoming less and less a contact sport with is making it much less enjoyable.

There is no purpose to talk to someone who is nieve enough to believe that basketball players are bigger actors or less physical than soccer players.

I don't know why you even started this thread. Every sport has made changes to protect players over time. The thing is, at any moment in time when comparing soccer to other sports at the same time, soccer is the less physical sport that is full of fakers.

Soccer is the only sport I know where the audience doesnt know EXACTLY how much time is left in the game. It's absurd.

The point of my previous post is I'd rather have stoppage of time than the officials just adding on a rough estimate of time at the end, an amount that feels arbitrary to the audience and a complete mystery until the end of match.

Basketball is horrible with flopping at many levels. I've coached soccer for 12 years and I have only seen one person take a dive (HS down to U12)

I've also seen more popped ACLs, MCLs, etc. than just about any other sport

Soccer is unpopular with people over 40 who equate it with socialism. It is catching on with 18-35 year olds who want an alternative to non sports like baseball.
