Bryce Sherman was a walk on and wasn't considered a potential top 100 prospect and didn't have offers from Alabama, LSU, Florida, and Florida St so quite possibly the worst comparison ever.

Bigger, stronger, great lateral movement. Also that was his sophomore highlights not the senior tape you saw on Sherman. He will probably fill out to be about 190-200 pounds an end up in the slot if he doesn't grow another inch. He makes me think along the lines of McKinley who was a high school QB and never played WR before hitting college. Make no mistake he projects as a WR.

Did Sherman even have a highlight tape? He was on track scholarship and walked on to the football team. Sherman is also like 5'2 and I doubt he played QB... so nothing about this reminds me of Bryce Sherman. If anything, it's similar to Stephon Gilmore's highschool highlights, except not as explosive as SG.

Noil, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound recruit, lists offers from Alabama, Florida, LSU, Miami, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Oregon, TCU, Texas and Texas A&M. Smith also has an impressive offer list that includes Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Michigan State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

"Noil spent his time in 2012 leading New Orleans Edna Karr to a state championship at quarterback, but he projects more at receiver on the college level," Howell said. "He is as explosive as they come, with great burst and acceleration. Noil is a guy who can also be looked to for immediate help on special teams."

The wildcard here is Devante Noil and he plays a lot of quarterback in high school, but he will play slot receiver in college. He is so shifty, he is tough to touch in space, and he is very quick

This kid is a flat-out jet. Not only is Noil fast, but he could play multiple positions with a quick acclimation and minimal learning curve. Has good height but minimal bulk. He is lean and sleek. Has a Percy Harvin feel to him. Plays as a Wildcat QB who is just good enough to keep you honest with his arm, but he is there for one reason.

In today's game Noil could have a Tavon Austin type of impact offensively, only he is bigger than the West Virginia wideout. With his top-end speed and ability to make plays in space, we felt that he was a cut above others in the class. He has a high ceiling due to the fact that he has not settled in at one position, so his best might still be ahead of him.
