I need to design a website for a new company I'm starting up. The site will probably be about 6-7 pages with downloads included for customers to use. I've never created a website before so does anyone have recommendations on software or websites I can use to do this?
It's going to be a pretty basic site, but I don't want to look like it..lol. Thanks for any help!

You may want to hire a web designer. There really aren't a lot of "do it yourself" options to making a web page that will look professional (that I know of). Your site sounds pretty basic, so it shouldn't cost much. Check Craigslist for freelance designers.
I've been out the web design game for a while so everything I just typed could be complete BS. lol

I agree with Remedy, unless you want a really templated and generic looking website. If the look isn't a big deal to you, 1and1.com is a decent option. I'd encourage you not to do that though. I'd look for a web design/programming student still in school looking for side work if your budget isn't extensive.
Sites can get pricey and the addition of custom functionalities will add to the price tag. I work for a full service digital agency so if you wanted to look into investing some money to your online presence then message me. But bottom line is I would definitely urge you to hire someone to get it done for you.
