Cam's contract has a 5th year option for the Panthers and then the franchise tag for the 6th year. He isn't going anywhere.

If the Panther's are forced to use the 5th year option, then he's gone for sure since he otherwise would have signed an extension/new contract by then.

Trust me....unless the Panthers start drafting well AND going after some key players in FA, Cam won't stick around.

Me personally I think Cam will stay a Panther his entire career because this is the first time since his college career started he has stayed in one place longer than a year first Florida then Blynn and finally Auburn. The supporting cast he has now is building even more so you already got Smithy, Olsen, J-Stew, D-Will, and LaFell. With Chud gone everything will go up from last season since they lived and died by the read option which proved to be horrible for this type of offense. I believe Shula will keep what worked and replace what didn't work. Even with the horrible games last season the Panthers finished second in the NFC South. We have seen Cam mature quite a bit from his rookie campaign to this season and it will continue. So when it is time for a new contract Cam is going to sign without a second thought.

I think Smitty is done in 2-3 years. And there's no way LaFell can be the #1 go to guy. That's why the new GM HAS to go after a WR in free agency. I read he was looking at one of the WR's from the Giants and we may sign one of them soon. But IMO we need to grab a big name FA WR or draft one in the next year or so to keep Cam happy. One thing about Cam, he hates losing and he will bolt unless we start making the playoffs. Plus I'm not sure Richardson is going to give him the $100 million + contract he's going to want. Flacco set the bar high and I think Cam is a better QB than Flacco.

Wow, why? Very underrated LB, albiet not at his best last year. He is still a solid starting LB... If we draft another LB high (1st/2nd) I'll throw up... we have much more glaring problems

Need him as insurance in case Beast or TD go down again
