Could've been just timing. He was released from the Knicks in '12 and ended up in Petron later that year. He might have not been able to organize tryouts with some of the higher paying Euro teams. That's just speculation, but if he isn't playing in the NBA, I would imagine he'd want to play in Europe. I can't imagine the PBA teams pay well in comparison.

He said on his twitter that he made a mistake, but I'm sure he'll find another place to play.
